Hilary Duff Gives Herself Bright Blue Hair While Quarantining

If you're considering dyeing your hair at home while quarantined, any stylist will tell you that drastic hair changes should be left to the experts. Still, this hasn't stopped celebrities from changing up their hair while social distancing at home, including Hilary Duff.

On Apr. 12, the actress debuted bright blue hair on Instagram. Did she really dye it herself? Is it a wig? TBA, because Duff didn't address her dramatic new hair color in the post's caption. Instead she simply wrote "yea" with the shrug emoji.

Real or wig, the bright blue hair looks amazing on the actress and her fans agree. Duff's followers flooded her post with comments like, "If that's a wig imma be real mad cuz that color is gorgeous on you," and "SO BEAUTIFUL."

Duff's stylist Nikki Lee of Nine Zero One Salon even approves of her new color. "Yep! You did it!" she wrote.

If you've run out of ingredients to bake more sourdough bread and solved every 1000-piece puzzle, DIY hair color might seem like the next obvious quarantine project. While your colorist wouldn't encourage you to make any major permanent changes to your hair, temporary hair dyes are a less risky move. Products like Overtone Coloring Conditioner and Lime Crime's Unicorn Hair Tint are semi-permanent colors that only last a handful of washes.

The only problem with semi-permanent hair dyes? There are too many colors to choose from.
