Hillcrest Towers unveils new mural
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Hillcrest Towers held a ribbon cutting on June 8 to unveil a new mural running parallel to School Avenue.
The mural, titled “Ozark Sunrise,” was designed by local artist Tina Oppenheimer, who has painted several electrical boxes and storm drain covers in Fayetteville. Oppenheimer has been painting on empty walls her whole life, she said.

“My parents really encouraged my art when I was a kid,” Oppenheimer said. “They let me paint on my bedroom walls. I’ve also drawn ever since I was a kid, and I’ve drawn patterns like similar to that.”
The view from her eleventh-floor balcony inspired this mural, which depicts various colors winding along the wall.
