History Corner: Go back to Shreveport's Veteran's Park Amphitheater

Veteran's Park Amphitheater was something to behold way back when! People from all around the area would come to hear their favorite bands jamming into the night! Even Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joan Jett rocked out there to huge crowds!

Unfortunately, it’s no longer standing and the elements have taken their toll on this once grand structure. That's why we decided to visit the location (off of Clyde Fant Parkway) a while back to get a better idea of what it once was.

Our trip there, along with tons of old photos from the Northwest Louisiana Archives at LSUS, allowed us to get an idea of the layout of what used to be. While we were there, we could almost hear the echoes of the bands that played there! Our buddy, Daniel Garner, played there with his band and what an experience that must have been!
