Hoda Kotb Describes Her Idea of a Perfect Date
Hoda Kotb is getting candid about what she is looking for in the next chapter of her dating life.
The TV personality famously called off her engagement to former partner Joel Schiffman in January 2022, announcing the news of their split on the Today show at the time.
Now that she has been single for over a year, Kotb has plenty of ideas about what the perfect date would entail, spilling some of her fantasies to co-host Jenna Bush Hager in a recent Hoda & Jenna segment.
While talking about "infla-dating" (limiting expensive dates due to rising prices) on the Wednesday, July 6 episode, Kotb and Hager both insisted that dates don't have to be extravagant in order to woo someone.
Kotb then gave some pointers about the best way to win her over personally, noting that a special date can be both simple and effective.
Dating can be hard for many reasons, including inflation.

"You've got to get creative," Kotb said during their chat, to which her co-anchor replied, "But the simplest date, which is the best, is a walk."
"You also know quickly because if you don't really have anything to talk about when you're on a walk, maybe you don't have much that you're clicking on," Kotb added, before going on to paint a picture about her ideal "cool" date.
"I mean, what if you got a call from someone who said, 'Hey let's go on a date, meet me in Central Park,' and you met him in Central Park and he had a picnic laid out. Wouldn't that be cool? It doesn't have to be fancy!"
Kotb's comments come over a year after she announced her split from Schifman, 65, to whom she had been engaged for two years.
The former couple were together for a total of eight years up until the split last year, though they still continue to co-parent their two daughters, Haley, 6, and Hope, 3.
