Star Wars superfans had the most extreme themed wedding
There was no bad luck to be had for Brittini and Rory Decker on their Friday the 13th wedding this past October, and that’s probably because the force was with them. These fanatics pulled off the chicest Star Wars-themed wedding possible, and they recently released the photos to prove it.
On Dec. 13, two days ahead of Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s release last Friday, Brittini shared photos from their backyard wedding that played some Jedi mind tricks by superimposing the wedding party onto a Star Wars backdrops, complete with cruisers, fighters, and lightsabers.
In the photos, everyone is still wearing their wedding apparel, including Brittini in her gorgeous white A-line gown with a floral overlay. Her bridesmaids wore mint green dresses that matched their photoshopped-in lightsabers. Brittini’s weapon was red.
“We wanted to have hints of Star Wars throughout the wedding,” Brittini tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “My garter had a stormtrooper on it, our cake cutters were these beautiful handmade lightsabers.” The topper for their cake read, “love you to the death star and back.” The stems of their ethereal bouquets — featuring succulents, eucalyptus, and dusty miller — were lightsabers. The boutonnieres had characters on them.
Like many couples these days, they also had custom cocktails. “We had handcrafted cocktails from The Boulevard in Costa Mesa, they made a light side and a dark side drink (black margarita).”
The strung lights gave the whole event a starry vibe.
Brittini’s mom played the Imperial March on the violin when she came down the aisle and the Star Wars theme for their exit. “It sounded beautiful,” Brittini recalls. “I did want Darth Vader to marry us and have the bartenders dress like Stormtroopers, but my husband used his veto for that.”
Brittini says that they posed in certain ways for some photos so that they could Photoshop Star Wars backdrops in later.
“We both love Star Wars and my entire family loves Star Wars. It’s fun to have a non traditional wedding photo expressing our shared fandom for a franchise we have watched through our five years together and we both grew up watching.”
Brittini says she is the bigger fan in their relationship. “I have not one but two Darth Vader tattoos and all the stuff I buy for our place usually is Star Wars-themed.”
Still, seems like she’s found her perfect match.
