The hot toy all slime-loving kids will want to get their hands on this year
Wondering what to get your kids this holiday? YouTube star Delaina Ingrassia and her group of friends — known as the Dresses and Messes Squad — have got you covered. (Delaina is the daughter of style and beauty blogger Cori Ingrassia, who has more than 17,000 followers on Twitter.)
Delaina and friends share with Yahoo Lifestyle their top three toy picks of the season. The first one is an ideal gift for any kid who loves to play with slime — and what kid doesn’t? As Delaina puts it: “Slime is so satisfying.”
It’s the Poopsie Pooey Puitton Slime Surprise ($59), which lets kids age 6 and up create their own scented glittery unicorn slime. “This is the ultimate slime kit,” Delaina tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
The kit comes in a colorful poop-shaped purse and includes 12 unicorn-shaped bottles with slime powder. Just add water and you’ve got slime. It also comes with sparkle packets for shiny slime, “crunch” packets and “magic” packets, as well as four mystery scents to give your slime its own a signature scent.
If your child can’t part with his or her slime creation when they leave the house, the kit conveniently comes with a small poop-shaped, air-tight storage case. “This is a keychain, so on-the-go you can bring your slime,” says Delaina.
For the kids who love to join their parents at Starbucks, there’s the Rose Art Creative Café barista bar ($18), a pretend coffee-making set. “It’s not real coffee — it’s just milk,” reassures one of the members of Dresses and Messes. Kids can whip up chocolate or strawberry-flavored milk drinks and even create a frothy foam. The tool has a real milk steamer but doesn’t use any heat, so it’s safe for kids. The set also comes with stencils, which kids can use to add an artsy touch when they sprinkle on some cinnamon.
If your kid likes to experiment with hair color, Cool Maker JoJo Siwa hair styling kit ($13) will make a great gift. The kit comes with an airbrushing tool, which you load with one of five different bright colors. Kids age 8 and up can highlight or streak hair, as well as “tattoo” locks by using stencils. “You can make your own bows, and you get to make your own hair extensions,” says one of the squad members. “I think this is a must-have.”
