House of the Dragon Season 2 Trailer Showcases Dragon Warfare

Get ready for some hot dragon on dragon action in House of the Dragon Season 2.

In the first trailer released for HBO’s fantasy drama, a prequel to Game of Thrones, we see different families preparing for war.

"There is no war more hateful to the gods, than a war between kin," says Eve Best’s Rhaenys in the trailer. "And no war so bloody as a war between dragons."

The final shot shows a huge, soaring dragon buzzing the tops of soldiers heads as it performs a banking manoeuvre, seemingly ready to blast down a reign of fire.

While the plot is still under wraps, author George R.R. Martin has already seen the whole thing. House of the Dragon is adapted from his finished novel, Fire & Blood, so he was given an exclusive preview during a recent visit to London.

“Of course, I am hardly objective when talking about anything based on my own work… but I have to say, I thought both episodes were just great. (And they are not even finished yet).”

The author continued: “Dark, mind you. Very dark. They may make you cry. (I did not cry myself, but one of my friends did). Powerful, emotional, gut-wrenching, heart-rending. Just the sort of thing I like. (What can I say? I was weaned on Shakespeare, and love the tragedies and history plays best of all).”
