I drink so much more water since I got this $26 tea and fruit-infusing pitcher
Like a lot of Midwest kids, I grew up with a refrigerator in the garage for holding all kinds of pop, sport drinks and bottled water. Of course, I gravitated towards the sugary options and as I grew up, I found it hard to decrease the amount of Diet Cokes I downed in a day. The one thing that's helped me swap cola for quality H2O is infusing my water with naturally sweet fresh fruit. I started with just lemon and cucumber bits in a glass, but realized I could make a bigger batch of spa water (as people like to call it) to enjoy anytime. Now, I use this $26 glass pitcher with a filtering lid, and it really does help me drink more water in a day.
This glass pitcher has a filtering lid to keep fruit, herbs and even ice locked inside while you pour yourself a glass of water.
- Filtering lid
- Stylish
- Durable
- Too small for a crowd
While it's honestly just like giant water glass — comparable in size to a Stanley tumbler — I gravitated towards the 50-ounce JoyJolt Glass Pitcher because of its lid. The stainless steel topper has a rubber seal to keep it from leaking, and two openings: a wide pour spout and a filter spout. When I infuse my water, the filter spout prevents seeds, pulp or even smaller pieces of fruit from leaving the pitcher. And when I'm done drinking all 50 ounces, I reuse the fruit for up to 24 hours and refill the pitcher with more water. (FYI, I replace my fruit infusers each day.)
While 50 ounces sounds like a lot, it's only about 6.25 cups of water. If you decide to use this for a party, you'll probably have to refill it a few times. But for one or two people, it's perfect. And the slim design fits easily in my fridge.
I like to add fresh mint, cucumbers and lemon wedges or lime to mine, and I make it my goal to drink about 1.5 pitchers of my infused water a day. It's delicious, so it's not hard. You can find tons of fruit-infused water recipes online or you can get creative and make your own.
In addition to tastier water, you can use this pitcher to make a big batch of iced tea or serve sangria. It's also thermo-resistant, so you can fill it with scalding hot coffee or even pop it in the microwave. On the other hand, you can choose to pop it in the freezer to get it nice and frosty on a hot summer day. When it needs a clean, it's easy to hand wash, but you don't have to — both the pitcher and lid are dishwasher-safe.
I've had my JoyJolt pitcher for the last six months and use it every day. While I haven't used it for hot liquids, it has gone through the dishwasher, and it still looks like the day I got it. If you're looking for a little motivation to drink more water, this stylish, yet practical pitcher will definitely make hydrating more fun.
It's slim enough you could get two or three for your fridge — that way you can have infused H2O and sangria on hand at all times.
