Iain Armitage of 'Young Sheldon' Takes Credit For Reba’s Romance With Rex Linn: "They Are The Cutest Couple Ever!"
Romance has been known to blossom just about everywhere, especially on film and television sets — That’s why Young Sheldon’s Iain Armitage feels somewhat responsible for Reba McEntire’s romance with actor Rex Linn.
“I’m a giant Reba McEntire fan,” says the 15-year-old, who stars as Sheldon Cooper on the hit CBS series Young Sheldon, a prequel the The Big Bang Theory.
“They really got together on our show. Ms. Reba was on our show playing Ms. Annie Potts’ friend and Mr. Rex Lynn, of course, is our high school principal on the show. So I feel like I get to take partial credit for that.”

As to whether he was quick to recognize their budding romance, Armitage smiles and admits he didn’t notice at first. “Well as much as I would like to say I did, I’m not too good with reading things like that, but now that they are together, I’ve got to say that they are one of the cutest couples ever and I just love them so much.”

It may have been his first time visiting Nashville, but the Georgia-born entertainer says it won’t be his last.
“It’s not my first time in Tennessee. I’ve gone to Memphis, but it’s my first time in Nashville. I kind of want to move here,” he smiles. “This is such a beautiful place with incredible, kind, lovely, wonderful people. I love to say, ‘It’s a big city with small town energy,’ and that’s exactly how it feels.”
The final season of Young Sheldon
The seventh and final season of Young Sheldon, premiered on CBS last night (February 15) and Armitage says he’s still coming to terms with the end of the hit show. “I’ve stayed strong and so far, I haven’t shed a single tear but you know that’s going to change in a few months,” he admits.
“I’m very sad about it ending, but I’m happy and feel so lucky that I’ve gotten to have so many years of doing this wonderful show and work with such wonderful people.”
Among his favorite co-stars is veteran actress Annie Potts, who plays Sheldon’s MeeMaw on the show. “Every single moment that I’ve gotten to work with or be around Ms. Annie Potts is one that I’m going to be able to cherish for years to come because she is one of my favorite actresses ever,” he says.
