Iggy Azalea Lost 15 Lbs Dancing for Her New Video
If you've heard Iggy Azalea's new single "Mo Bounce," you know it's just asking to be used in a cardio-fitness class. Try not to nod your head to the chorus, which implores, "Bounce, b-bounce, bounce, b-bounce / Bounce, b-bounce, bounce." Hey, no one ever said pop music needed to be complicated.
The video came out a few weeks ago and showcases Iggy and friends dancing all over Hong Kong. The go-to move is, of course, the twerk.
In an interview today on an Australian radio show, Iggy shared how much effort went into the "Mo Bounce" shoot and the impact it had on her body. "It's a lot. I went on a meal plan before the video because I knew I would have to be dancing fairly skimpily dressed," she said. "I did a lot of rehearsals actually, and man, I lost 15 pounds in a week dancing to that song!"
The angles at which Iggy twerks are a sight to behold but she told hosts that she had some assistance. "I did get help, I did take classes, I do have someone who is very, very good at twerking, and she helped me ... I never realized how flexible you have to be do to that stuff," she said.
No guarantees that hours of bounce-bounce-bouncing will allow you to bend quite like Iggy, but perhaps you'll enjoy some of the same cardiovascular benefits. It's worth a try.
