Iggy Azalea Wished Her Plastic Surgeon Happy Birthday on Instagram

Iggy Azalea hasn’t been shy about having had plastic surgery. She has admitted to having work done in Seventeen and Vogue magazines and has continued to share about the procedures. Now, she’s showcasing her appreciation for her plastic surgeon, Dr. Ghavami, on Instagram. In a birthday post dedicated to the doctor, she gushed about him and the gifts he has given her — a new nose and new breasts.

“It might seem obvious I’d hold the man I owe my fabulous nose and breasts to in high regard,” she wrote. “But vanity aside; Ash you’re hilarious as hell, talented, eclectic, a progressive thinker & someone who supports women in their choice to do what they want with their OWN bodies (tons of men don’t share that sentiment).”

In the photo she posted of herself and the doctor, the rapper looked stunning, with minimal makeup and her blond locks parted in the middle and loose around her shoulders.

Dr. Ghavami returned the well wishes in a similar post gushing about the rapper. Using the same photo Iggy posted, he wrote, “Thank you a mill for everything! Your bold confidence is to be respected! My BDay is complete. Those like you who stand apart and trailblaze their own path no matter who tries to block or impede it, ALWAYS come out ahead, most importantly for themselves.”

So far, Azalea’s fans have been super-receptive of her continuing to open up about her plastic surgery. “You’re amazing and your nose looks fab girl,” an Instagram user named paigekennyy commented on Iggy’s post. Another user named binnywong expressed admiration for Iggy’s openness about this often-shunned topic, writing, “I kind of love her for this.” Another follower felt the same way: “You’re so honest!! That’s one of the many things I love about you.” Chris_beana had similar sentiments. “Love your nose and most importantly your honesty!”

Other commenters said she didn’t need the work. “I thought you looked better before the plastic but you still look beautiful and no judgement it’s your body and you can do what you want,” one user wrote.

Iggy first admitted to having had plastic surgery in an interview that Vogue released in March 2015. “I did change something,” Iggy said in the interview. “Four months ago, I got bigger boobs! I’d thought about it my entire life.” She admitted that she went under the knife because she was sick of having to sew padding into her stage costumes and wanted to be able to wear lingerie without wiring. At first she decided she’d never discuss this publicly; “she didn’t want girls — so many of her fans are barely high school age — to feel bad about their own bodies,” said Vogue. “But then,” she told the magazine, “I decided I wasn’t into secret-keeping.”

A few months later, Iggy opened up to Seventeen magazine about her nose job. “I’m not denying it. Denying it is lame,” she said in the interview. Iggy is now very big on ending the plastic surgery taboo. “I don’t think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself, which is why I’ve spoken about the changes I’ve made.”

However, she said she would never jump onto the table on a whim; she does her research beforehand. “I read a lot about nose jobs online,” she told Seventeen. “Plastic surgery is an emotional journey,” Iggy said. “It’s no easy feat to live with your flaws and accept yourself — and it’s no easy feat to change yourself. Either way you look at it, it’s a tough journey. There are things that I didn’t like about myself that I changed through surgery. There are other things I dislike but I’ve learned to accept.”

“It’s important to remember you can’t change everything,” Iggy proclaimed. “You can never be perfect.”
