IHOP Bringing Back Fan-Favorite Combo From the '80s In Honor of Its 65th Anniversary
This blast from the past will only be available for a limited time.
To celebrate the restaurant's 65th anniversary, IHOP is reviving a beloved breakfast combo first introduced to menus in the 1980s.
The Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Combo is back on menus nationwide for a limited time, according to a press release.
For just $6, IHOP guests can fill up on an indulgent combination of two eggs any style, slices of crispy bacon or two juicy sausage links, and two pancakes topped with the fruit of your choice–including the classic glazed strawberries or one of three new fruity toppings: blueberry, seasonal mixed berries, and a cinnamon apple spread.
All IHOP customers who purchase a Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Combo between Jan. 26 and 29 will also receive triple PanCoins to redeem through the IHOP rewards program.
"When Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity first arrived on IHOP menus, the breakfast combo was at the center of people’s memorable dining experiences, and we are excited to continue the tradition for a new generation,” Kieran Donahue, CMO of IHOP, stated in the release. “Our guests know Rooty Tooty by name, so we knew it was the perfect menu item to pull out of our recipe archives in celebration of our 65th year to share a nostalgic fan favorite with guests, and spread a little more joy this year.”
To make things even sweeter, IHOP joined forces with General Mills to launch a truly one-of-a-kind partnership this month resulting in the IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal, a blueberry and syrup flavored breakfast cereal available wherever you buy your General Mills products.
And next month, the fan-favorite breakfast franchise has plans to once again ring in National Pancake Day by offering a free buttermilk short stack for guests who dine-in between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
