Ina Garten's go-to glass mixing bowls are finally on sale — get 10 for just $45

These versatile, durable Anchor Hocking vessels nest inside one another for easy storage.

Is there anyone who embodies "effortless chic" like Ina Garten? (We all know the answer is no.) I can't tell you how many recipes from the Barefoot Contessa have become staples of mine, and who among us hasn't swooned over her impeccably stocked kitchen? The woman has excellent taste. The downside? Her gear often comes with a high price tag, such as her favorite Le Creuset cookware. That's why I was stunned to find that her go-to Anchor Hocking Glass Mixing Bowls can be had for $45 on sale ... and that's for a set of 10!

Let's be clear: These timeless beauties will take you from meal prep to mixing to serving.

These bowls rarely go on sale, but right now, you can score the set for a few bucks off. Frankly, they're worth their full price, though: The sturdy glass means they'll likely last forever, so when you calculate the cost per years used, this is an undeniably good buy.

Why do I need this? ??

On Ina's website, she lists the kitchen equipment she uses and recommends, and these mixing bowls made the cut. (You can also spot them in plenty of Barefoot Contessa episodes and Instagram cooking videos, including this one featuring Jennifer Garner.) The set includes 10 mixing bowls in a range of sizes, from 1 ounce to 3.5 quarts, and you'll be able to nest them inside one another for space-saving storage.

The smaller bowls are ideal for mise en place — that's a fancy term for prepping your ingredients before you begin cooking so that everything is measured out and ready to go. They can hold spices, minced garlic, chopped herbs and small amounts of liquid ingredients like vinegar so you can just pop each one in when the recipe calls for it.

You'll reach for the larger bowls when you're mixing up things like pancake batter and cookie dough, and they also make lovely salad serving bowls. You'll be able to see if there are dry bits of flour at the bottom that need to be incorporated, and they're sturdy enough not to go flying all over your counter while you stir. They're also freezer-, microwave- and dishwasher-safe (gotta love easy cleanup!) and can be used for storing leftovers in the fridge too.

What reviewers say ??

Ina's not the only one who's "bowled over" by this set — here's what some of the 2,000 five-star Amazon reviewers had to say.

Pros ??

"I bought these bowls almost three years ago and they still rate as one of the best purchases I have ever made through Amazon," said one fan. "They've not only stood the test of time and still look brand new after almost daily use, they are amazingly versatile and very easy to clean since they're dishwasher-safe."

"I love these bowls. Well made, real glass, tons of uses," said one happy shopper. "From baking ingredients pre-measured and laid out, condiment bowls, salad bowls, eating, mixing, chip or candy dish or other assorted nibbles ... Topping the uses is that the set is nesting, so 10 bowls get stored all in the space just for the largest one."

"These bowls are very well made and of the highest quality," shared another. "Perfect sizes for a variety of kitchen tasks, from mixing up a batch of mashed potatoes to serving up an individual size soy sauce and wasabi cup for a sushi lunch, and everything in between."

Cons ??

Some shoppers said they thought the bowls were a little unwieldy, while other longtime fans were bummed to find that the brand removed its logo from the set.

"These are great! My only issue is that they are a little heavy," said one person. "That just makes them sturdy. Overall, they work perfectly for cooking and having my ingredients ready to mix or heating in the microwave."

"Miss the Anchor. The bowls are wonderful. It saddens me they removed their logo," said another. "Aren't they proud of their product? Why did they remove their logo?"

Just stack 'em when they're not in use. How easy is that?

Another Ina must-have? A sturdy Lodge cast iron pan (it's an essential in my kitchen too).

This durable skillet is made of super-strong cast iron that'll last for decades. It has excellent heat retention for achieving the perfect sear, and since it comes pre-seasoned, you can use it right out of the box.
