On April 12, the Brooklyn Museum hosted its annual Brooklyn Artists Ball, welcoming more than 600 guests to the New York City institution to honor Maria Grazia Chiuri, Saundra Williams-Cornwell, and W. Don Cornwell during an evening that raised a record $2.4 million for the museum.
Art world luminaries like Judy Chicago, Swizz Beats, Thelma Golden, Marilyn Minter, and Hank Willis Thomas enjoyed cocktails—as well as a virtual reality experience by Marco Brambilla and a photo booth by Randy Polumbo—before a dinner in the museum’s Beaux-Arts Court, which was designed by David Stark for the occasion. After the tables were cleared, the beloved Artists Ball After Party welcomed DJ Runna before Swizz Beats, a Brooklyn Museum trustee, spun a set.
