On October 15 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manhattan, the Women’s Committee Board of Directors of the Central Park Conservancy hosted its Annual Fall Luncheon. The event started with a welcome reception and lunch before guests enjoyed a conversation between journalist Tamron Hall and author and television personality Ina Garten. The sold-out luncheon, which was supported by Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, drew guests including Karen LeFrak, Gillian Miniter, Margo Nederlander, Jenny Paulson, and Betsy Smith, the Conservancy’s President and CEO, and raised more than $400,000 toward the group’s mission of restoring, managing, and enhancing Central Park. “This year, we are raising awareness that 80% of the funding for the life enhancing park we all enjoy comes from donations,” said Alexia Leuschen, President of the Women’s Committee, “allowing us to continue the important work of sustaining this truly democratic civic resource.”
