Inside Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Second Georgia Wedding, From All-White Dress Code to Guests
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially married for a second time. Their first ceremony was an intimate and seemingly spontaneous event at a Las Vegas chapel, but on Saturday they tied the knot in Georgia on Affleck's giant luxury estate. This time, they were surrounded by their friends and family and went all out on celebrating with fireworks, live music, and even a dress code.
On Saturday, the wedding events began at the The Perry Lane Hotel in Savannah, Georgia, where most guests were staying before being shuttled to Affleck's estate. A source told Entertainment Tonight that guests were offered champagne before boarding.
“Guests were gathering at The Perry Lane Hotel [in Savannah] to head to Jennifer and Ben's wedding,” the source explained. “Everyone is dressed in white with most women in white dresses and gowns, and most men in white suits, a majority in linen material, but the dress code features a wide variety. Some men are in white shorts and sneakers and there is a female guest in a white fringe leather jacket and sparkly cowboy hat.”
Director Kevin Smith, a longtime friend of Affleck, shared a photo of himself with his wife in all-white for the event on Twitter.
At the estate, the wedding's officiant Jay Shetty, a popular life coach, wore an off-white suit with a bow tie and matching leather dress shoes. Shetty was brought to the property in a private car. It was a lot to coordinate, but a second source said that J.Lo and Affleck were incredibly kind to everyone making their special day happen.
“Ben and Jen have been so gracious all weekend. They have been wonderful towards all the staff helping with the event, from the limo shuttle service company and beyond,” the source said. “You can tell how in love they are and how comfortable they are with each other. They can't wait to continue to celebrate all weekend long with the people they love the most.”
They also went out of their way to welcome their guests, even at the hotel accommodations. Everyone invited received a goodie bag with a “JB’ inscription in white script letters.
Security has been incredibly busy for the wedding, and the Daily Mail reported that Affleck received a no-fly zone permit over the property within a three-mile radius that started as preparations began. There are some aerial photos, however, of Affleck and Lopez kissing on the dock and their guests streaming down a white carpet.
