On Monday, March 2, theater's best and brightest took advantage of the dark night on Broadway stages to flock to the Ziegfeld Ballroom for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2020 gala. The evening—which honored Alan Cumming, Michael Kors, and Lance Le Pere—featured an awards presentation, dinner, a live auction, and a performance by Cyndi Lauper. Guests including Jane Krakowski, Neil Patrick Harris, Audra McDonald, Chita Rivera, Claire Danes, Debra Messing, and more were on hand to celebrate Roundabout, which is New York’s largest non-profit theater, and to raise a glass to Cumming, who was honored for his body of work and impact on the dramatic world, and Kors and Le Pere, who were honored for their commitment to cultural philanthropy. No surprise for this crowd, it was an evening deserving of a standing ovation.
