On February 10, the anticipated Broadway revival of The Music Man, starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre. Guests including Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Kathy Hochul, Eric Adams, Michael Bloomberg, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gayle King, Michael Kors, and Paul Tazewell made their way to the theater to see the musical, which is being produced by Barry Diller, David Geffen, and Kate Horton.
The performances from the cast—which features Shuler Hensley, Jayne Houdyshell, and Jefferson Mays, among others directed by Jerry Zaks—wasn't the only entertainment on tap. A marching band made up of more than 50 New York City school students lent their talents to the evening, and before the curtain raised guests heard from Horton and New York City schools chancellor David C. Banks, while the cast had a visit from newly elected mayor Eric Adams.
