Inside the Town & Country Dallas Philanthropy Summit
On October 29, Town & Country held its third annual Philanthropy Series event in Dallas, Texas at the Hotel Crescent Court. In fall 2017, T&C expanded on its annual Philanthropy Summit, held in New York, with satellite T&C Philanthropy Series events across the country. The first was held in San Francisco and the second in Chicago. This year’s event in Dallas focused on the "Female Forces in Philanthropy" with discussions on maternal healthcare, STEM education for girls, and why educated women will save the world. The event's keynote speaker was Christy Turlington Burns, founder of Every Mother Counts, who was joined by Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association (AHA). Every Mother Counts is a nonprofit organization whose mission it is to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. Other panels included "Inequality at Home: How STEM Propels Girls" and "The Global Fix: Why Educated Women Will Save the World." Closing remarks were delivered by Kristen Cole, president and CEO of Forty Five Ten. Additional partners include Lugano Diamonds, Gulfstream, Forty Five Ten, the American Heart Association, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Christy Turlington Burns, Charlotte Jones, Lyda Hill, and more spoke about the female force in philanthropy.
