Instagram Personality Eating NYC on Finding Her Dream Reem Acra Wedding Dress
When you know, you know… especially with a wedding dress. For Instagram personality Alexa Mehraban (the force behind @EatingNYC), it was truly love at first sight.
“I spotted the dress shortly after getting engaged during a trip to Kleinfeld’s for my cousin’s wedding,” Mehraban tells The Knot. However, that first glance haunted her for weeks on end, and she eventually returned to try it on herself.

“Months later, I finally tried it on for my own wedding,” she proudly notes. For Mehraban, there was no secondary option. Her dress, a strapless princess piece by the venerable Reem Acra, included all of the makings of a fairy tale wedding gown. It accentuated her waist with a fitted, beaded bodice and a full skirt.
There was a customization element done in-house by the experts at Kleinfeld. Mehraban, 26, opted to keep her accessories to a minimum, including her veil, which she called “super simple.” (She also purchased the piece from the same location in New York City).

“For shoes, I was going for height and comfort,” she says of her Giuseppe Zanotti heels. “I did a lot of browsing online until I found the perfect shoe.”
With such a splendid dress, Mehraban opted to keep her hair and makeup simple. “I wore my hair down, which is how I usually wear it,” she says, “but I was looking for more volume and loose curls for my wedding day.” Stylist Marianna Faitos understood the bride’s ask and gave her the picture-perfect blowout.
The Instagram personality also wanted to tone it down with the bridal beauty as well. “I’m usually not big on makeup,” she muses. “I wanted to go for a natural, dewy look.” Thankfully, Armani makeup artist Danielle Baudanza helped bring a pretty palette to Mehraban’s complexion.

The social media influencer and her now-husband, Daniel Matthews, also made sure to keep their colors and decorations classy, with an emphasis on good food and great vibes.
“It’s hard to put into words, but we were truly on a cloud,” she says of their April 21 wedding day. “Once the ceremony was over, we felt ready to party!”
