Internet Attempts to Debunk 'Suspicious' New Video of Kate Middleton Amid Royal Family Controversies

Kate Middleton was finally caught on a public outing after her abdominal surgery this past January, where she was seen looking “happy, relaxed and healthy” during a trip to a local farm shop with her husband, Prince William, over St. Patrick's Day weekend, but as more information comes to light, the more "suspicious" the whole thing seems.

When news of the princess' trip out of the house first broke, there were only anonymous sources telling the tale, with no photos or videos of the moment to be found.

It only fueled the ever-growing flames of conspiracy surrounding the royal and her health. With the palace refusing to provide any information other than the fact that she's on her way to recovery, and with every new photo released thus far being manipulated or of poor quality, the whole world is demanding answers.

With no formal confirmation of Middleton's presence at the local business, royal watchers were convinced the palace fed the tip directly to the media in another misguided attempt to quiet the noise.

Hours later, TMZ published a video clip purporting to be from the outing, but the blurry quality left everyone wondering if it was even really Middleton featured in the brief snippet, with some suggesting it was a well-known lookalike named Heidi Agan.

Internet users quickly got down to business, utilizing AI to try to clarify the imagery—which, as others pointed out—was not a reliable way to determine her identity, but most were convinced that "that ain't Kate"—including Anderson Cooper.

Plenty also leaned into the almost comical absurdity of the constant back and forth over the princess' health and well-being, with one posting a promo photo from the film A Royal Christmas in reference to the "suspicious" sightings over the last several weeks.

Whether or not the video features the real Middleton, eagle-eyed fans are certain it wasn't taken over the weekend. As many pointed out, the shed in the background is lined with Christmas lights and garlands, with what might be a large sprig of mistletoe hanging in the center of the doorway—a structure that is only set up between September and January each year, according to the local publication Slough & South Bucks Observer.

"The video was likely taken in previous yrs, before the surgery, & Kensington Palace ordered it released in conspiracy w/tabloids to end the speculation about Kate’s disposition," one Twitter user suggested. "There are Xmas decors in background & the sheds are up until December. The video backfired."

However, a picture reportedly taken the morning of Tuesday, March 19, shows the sheds are, in fact, still standing, decor and all, leading one user to demand that "conspiracy theorists...give it a rest."

Unfortunately, at the rate the palace is going, we've likely still got several more conspiracies to go before things hopefully settle down with Middleton's eventual return to royal duties.
