The Internet Reacts to Meryl on BLL
News that Meryl Streep is set to star in Season 2 of Big Little Lies - playing Nicole Kidman's mother-in-law, no less - lit the internet on fire this afternoon, causing mass hysteria, several unconfirmed reports of cardiac arrest, and a mild stampede in my office.
Streep will step into the role of Mary Louise Wright, Perry's (Alexander Skarsgard) mother and Celeste's mother-in-law. "Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers," Deadline reports. We're going to need a fire extinguisher for the Celeste-Mary Louise showdown.
