Invincible Season 2 Finally Has a Release Date
It’s been over two years since the first season of Invincible hit our screens, but since then it’s taken the world by storm. Nobody could have predicted the massive success of the series, but its eight episodes were talked about constantly by just about anyone who’d watched it. One thing that always comes up in conversation is “When is a second season coming?” Well, now we know.
This past weekend was San Diego Comic-Con, and as with every Comic-Con, a bunch of fantastic comics-related things were announced. We saw news of a fresh start for X-Men comics, and the wild announcement of a Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. King Kong comic book, but the big show stopper was Invincible season 2, which got a new teaser trailer and a release date.
The trailer itself doesn’t give too much away in all honesty, with just a few glimpses of footage interspersed between some very tense-sounding quotes from various characters (but mostly Mark). It is a teaser, after all, rather than a full trailer, so they can’t give up the game just yet.
It does, at least give a proper release date for the season: Invincible season 2 will launch on Amazon Prime video worldwide on November 3, 2023. Well… for the first half at least. The second half of the season will launch later, in early 2024, which is a bit of a wait, but hopefully it’ll be closer to January than it is to June.
What was revealed in the teaser was the astonishing voice cast for the second season. Pretty much every voice actor from the first season has returned to revive their characters – yes, including J.K Simmons – but over a dozen big names have joined the cast for the second season too, including Ben Schwartz, Calista Flockhart, Tim Robinson, and so many more.
