It's not a new concept: sitting around a table with friends, freely exchanging ideas, laughs, and soul-quenching conversation about everything from work to love. In fact, that's probably what your Saturday night often looks like (just add wine and a cheese plate for good measure). But in various corners of the world, from Berlin to Barcelona, a group of women are organizing something with a little more intention.

HER Global Nework is an invite-only group that hosts intimate gatherings worldwide for women to connect and propel change in their respective industries. "HER is an impactful classroom, and a space where we want to celebrate authenticity and vulnerability," according to HER Global Network co-founders Aleksandra Avil and Sofia Kacim.

This secret supper club of sorts meets in 14 cities worldwide, throwing themed events that scale between a "Spring Cleaning"-themed clothing swap and brunch hosted by Aurora James, the founder of Brother Vellies, and a two-day summit to the Livingston Manor Fly Fishing Club in upstate New York.

"All HER gatherings are unique, but the common thread is that they all are curated with the ambition to create a safe space for women to meet, reflect, share and inspire each other," she says. "Since we’re an invite-only community, intimacy is crucial. We usually partner up with restaurants and unique places that can host us more privately. Each dinner is tailored to match the theme for the evening, selected members and the guest of honor."

Each of the nine cities have their own chapter and are responsible for organizing their own gatherings. HER New York - which just celebrated their first birthday with a HER gala - is propelled by Babba Canales, Markia Frumes, and Sophia Li: a trio of unbelievably well-connected businesswomen who live for fueling their community of women in NYC (who all met through HER Global Network!).

"Our members are busy and with that, we plan the dinners to be of most benefit to the women we invite that evening," says Frumes. "We curate the guest list to further create value by facilitating intentional introductions based on who we feel should connect."

Aside from bringing together an extraordinary group of women from various walks of live, the New York chapter also gauges their members' needs and relevant topics of interests when deciding on themes and speakers for their events.

If ever there was a democratic dinner party, this is it.

So, how exactly does one get on the guest list? Well, first make sure there's a chapter in your city. Right now, you can catch them in these U.S. cities: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Miami.

Next, you have to apply on herglobalnetwork.com. Technically, you have to be referred by a member, but as interest has grown, they now have the option of referring, well, yourself! You just need to fill out an application for your preferred chapter.

"The HER community is nothing without the authentic and real life women that take pride in being HER members and belonging to this community," says Avil.

Don't see a HER chapter in your hometown? Expert Tip: They're looking to expand to even more cities worldwide. Just a thought.
