Iskra Lawrence poses in underwear set and gets real about self-love: 'Soft tummy szn 4eva'
Iskra Lawrence has a point to make.
On Tuesday, the 31-year-old model shared a series of photos of her rocking a gray underwear set by Alo as she posed on a balcony. She used the caption to declare this "soft tummy szn 4eva" and to get real about the real work that goes into practicing self-love.
"As easy as I might make self confidence seem, it’s so much more than just putting on your cutest undie set and posing for pics," she wrote. "Everyday I choose to be my biggest cheerleader, I know my many privileges and I’ll never forget the darkness of body dysmorphia and disordered eating and will forever protect myself. Embracing all the changes and challenges of being a new mom has definitely given me a new perspective. At times self care seemed impossible and insignificant when you’re trying to juggle so baby, work and still being present in your relationship. I used to love that saying 'put your mask on before helping others' but seriously I would never put my mask on first if my baby needed me."
Lawrence told her over 4 million followers "that work on yourself to keep you feeling worthy, enough and confident can dwindle. Because we know self love is not a destination it’s a continual choice and journey with moving unknown obstacles. What can we do when we feel like our sense of self, our confidence, our relationships are slipping away…we remember who the F we are! We look directly at ourselves in the mirror and build ourselves up like we are going into battle, we armour up with our kind words and affirmations and we ask for help when we need it. This is our life, no one else’s. We have the ability to own every aspect of it and I believe no matter where you are right now as you’re reading you’ve got this. You’re enough exactly as you are right now ILY."
Lawrence also posed the question to her followers, "How are you feeling in your self today? Mind, body and spirit?"
Fans praised the star for her transparency and her stunning photos.
"Killing da game momma!" a fan said.
"You're glow is so beautiful," someone declared.
"Girl I love looking at your pictures!! Your natural beauty !! Love it!! you give me the strength to be brave and embrace my curves !!" a commenter admitted.
"Exactly what I needed to hear at this moment," another person added.
This is far from the first time the model has used her platform to talk about the importance of self-love. Throughout her career, she has opened up about her own struggles with confidence and in July, she posted photos of herself in a floral underwear set and talked about being thankful for your body no matter what stage you are in.
"Let’s continue to normalise that our bodies fluctuate; soften, strengthen, stretch and evolve as we grow into new versions of ourselves," she wrote in part. "What a gift to have a body that allows us to experience this life."
