Issa Rae, Lucy Liu, Aly Raisman, Christy Turlington and Ming Xi are the global ambassadors for Stuart Weitzman. The five women will appear in the shoe company’s forthcoming campaign film “How Lovely to Be a Woman,” directed by Matvey Fiks and featuring a remixed version of the song of the same name from the 1963 film “Bye Bye Birdie.” Photos for the campaign were captured by Ned Rogers.

Stuart Weitzman has such an incredible history of having iconic brand ambassadors wearing our most iconic shoes. As we look into the future and move the brand forward, it’s important that we gather inspiration from our consumers of today, while respecting and celebrating the brand’s heritage,” Kaisy Mae O’Reilly, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Stuart Weitzman, told WWD.

“The Stuart Weitzman woman is truly doing it all. She works, she has a family, she has hobbies and passions, she does the big things, she does the little things, and through everything, she pushes forward. And in style! Therefore, it was important to make sure we put a spotlight into the grit and perseverance of our woman by also choosing ambassadors who have come to define the modern multidimensional woman,” O’Reilly said.

The five women are all multihyphenates who represent the breadth and depth of womanhood. Among the women collaborating with Stuart Weitzman, this campaign marks Peabody Award winner and Sienna Naturals co-owner Issa Rae’s first global fashion campaign.

“These five women — Aly, Christy, Issa, Lucy, Ming — they all stand for strength and confidence in their own ways. They have all started in one field, faced wins and setbacks, but kept challenging themselves to do and become more,” O’Reilly said. “It is our hope that when you look at the women who represent Stuart Weitzman, our consumer could emotionally connect and see themselves, and maybe — just maybe — tap into the power they already have and gain that confidence to keep moving forward.”

Along with the 5050, Nudist and Stuart collections, selections from the fall 2024 season’s Emerson capsule collection are also featured in the campaign.

Previous Stuart Weitzman ambassadors include Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and Sofia Richie, who debuted as an ambassador in the spring 2024 campaign with her own shoe capsule, the Sofia Collection. In January, Stuart Weitzman also unveiled its first men’s shoes collection in Milan with help from Brooklyn Beckham.
