Ivanka Trump wears Alessandra Rich floral dress at human trafficking event
While all eyes have been on Melania Trump’s fashion statements of late, her stepdaughter Ivanka Trump seems poised to steal back the spotlight.
The first daughter and White House adviser joined Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Thursday evening for a State Department ceremony announcing the 2018 Trafficking in Persons Report, which outlines plans to combat human trafficking worldwide. The event also honored individuals who have been active against human trafficking.
Though some of her extravagant fashion purchases — specifically a silver Carolina Herrera gown valued at $5,000 — have drawn criticism, Trump spared no expense for her latest ensemble. Featuring a yellow floral print on a pistachio-green background, her Alessandra Rich crêpe de chine dress has an original price tag of $2,635 — though it’s currently on sale for $1,713.
On Friday morning, ahead of her appearance on the Fox Business Network, she shared a tweet about the event, expressing her pleasure at getting to “honor the heros (sic) on the frontlines.”
Thank you @SecPompeo.
It was an honor to join you and your talented, passionate colleagues at @StateDept to honor the heros on the frontlines in the fight against human trafficking and release the 2018 TIP report. #EndTrafficking https://t.co/1YVkuOysiW— Ivanka Trump (@IvankaTrump) June 29, 2018
