October is here, which means that my favorite season is in full swing. Instead of cold brew and stone fruit cobbler, nowadays I’m craving hot coffee and tea, cheesy pasta and potatoes, and spiced cakes. But now that I’m changing what I cook, I also need to change up what cooking tools I use, which calls for a full kitchen refresh.

If you’re also in the mood to start October with a fresh outlook on your kitchen, you’re in luck. Even before Prime Big Deal Days begins, Amazon is slashing prices on kitchen products that I recommend as a shopping writer who looks at deals for 40 hours a week. Top-rated brands like Keurig, Le Creuset, and Pyrex are all included in my picks — and you can save up to 45% off.

Editor-Loved October Kitchen Deals

SimpleHouseware Organizer Bins, Set of 6

Amazon

Amazon

$36

$19

I recently bought these plastic storage bins, which are 45% off right now, to organize my cabinets and refrigerator because I love to stock both with lots of small snacks and treats. The shelves were getting difficult to navigate, with lots of loose packages and half-empty cardboard containers, and I needed to make a change. By storing snacks and drinks in these bins, my family has easy access to whatever they need (nobody likes rummaging through a cluttered cabinet when they’re hungry), and my whole kitchen looks tidier. Mission accomplished.

Le Creuset 2.75-Quart Cast Iron Dutch Oven

I already own a large 6-quart Lodge Dutch oven, which has come in handy for deep-frying donuts, and whipping up a family-sized batch of mac and cheese on Christmas — I even roasted a whole chicken in it recently. But I’ve been looking for a smaller version that is even more practical for everyday use, and this Le Creuset 2.75-quart Dutch oven fits the bill perfectly.

Right now, it’s head-turning 38% off — a rare discount for this high-end cookware brand. At 8 pounds, it's much lighter than my Lodge 6-quart version which is almost 15 pounds — that makes it much easier to maneuver onto the stove and into the oven. And the wide base and round shape can accommodate all the dishes I want to make this fall, just in the smaller portions that my husband and I can share: cheesy casseroles, rich pasta sauces, and vegetable stews.

Keurig K- Slim Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker

I’ve never owned an automatic coffee maker, but it might finally be time to change that. I’m eyeing this Keurig coffee maker not just because it’s $30 off but because of its slim design. It measures just 15 by 18 by 8-inches which means that I can slide it onto my counter without it taking counter space away from my toaster or air fryer. The attached reservoir holds up to 46-ounce of water at a time, so I don’t need to continually refill it throughout the day. What I like most about it is that it’s simple to use — I don’t have to navigate any fancy settings or knobs. Just pick the cup size you want, press a button, and in a matter of minutes, it brews a cup of coffee.

Silivo Silicone Loaf Pans

When I look out my window and see gloomy skies and rain, all I want to do is stay inside and bake. I’m particularly excited about loaf cakes that I eat for breakfast or dessert — banana bread and poppy seed cake are my favorites. I do own metal loaf cake tins, but I find that they are tricky to clean and even if I coat the interior with oil, a little bit of cake is always left behind in the tin.

These silicone loaf pans might just be the solution to this annoyance: Just by gently pushing on the bottom of the pan, you can pop your cake right out, a time saving trick which is much easier than shaking, giggling, and banging a metal loaf tin on the counter top until the cake is released. Plus you can just flip the silicone material inside out to clean all the hard to reach crevices.

Pyrex 4.8-Quart Baking Dish

I have been using Pyrex glass baking dishes for years now — in fact, I already own two of them. But if I see them go on sale, I never pass up the opportunity to grab another one. Pyrex makes impressively durable cookware that holds up under frequent use in the high heat of the oven with cracking. The rectangular shape also makes it versatile enough that I can use it for essentially any dish that needs to be done in the oven, from baked pasta, to bread pudding or scalloped potatoes. The price tag might look higher than other baking dishes, but this is the last one you’ll ever need to buy, so it’s absolutely worth it.

Ember 14-Ounce Smart Mug

Ember recently sent me its self-heating mug to try, and I have to confess that it has become my new favorite fall accessory. Now that I am transitioning away from cold brew coffee, I need a gadget that will keep my coffee warm while I’m running around in the morning, getting myself ready for work and making breakfast for my family.

I just pour my coffee into the mug, and as soon as the liquid hits the bottom, it automatically turns on. In just a few minutes, it reaches its default temperature (which can be adjusted via an app on your phone) to 135°F and keeps it that way, so that if I get distracted, my coffee doesn’t go lukewarm and undrinkable. I’d recommend it to any busy person (especially moms or dads) who are tired of drinking cold coffee.

Philips Stainless Sparkling Water Maker

I spend an embarrassing amount of money on canned seltzer every month, but I consider it a necessity. For a while now, I have been considering ways that I might save money on seltzer, and because there’s no way I’m going to stop drinking it, I think this Phillips seltzer maker might be just the ticket. It has a slim and sleek design that is stylish but compact, and it makes up to one liter of carbonated water at a time, which is enough to last me at least a couple days. Plus, the one-touch design means that I can make my favorite drink quickly, and without much effort.
