Shoppers love that it adds volume, too.
I didn’t bet on 2023 being the year I’d become obsessed with my scalp, but here we are: I’m officially hyper-fixated on my hair health. It was a professional scalp massage that got me hooked, and now my routine consists of nourishing hair oils and scalp scrubs.
I actually didn’t think I needed a scalp scrub, but after watching endless videos of dull hair that morphed into bouncy, beautiful locks after using a scalp scrub on social media, I started looking around. One scrub in particular kept coming up again and again. Naturally, I bought it, and I’m here to tell you that the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub is the hardest-working item in my shower right now.
The Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub contains sea salt, which works as a natural, non-abrasive exfoliant to cleanse the scalp. It gives your hair a deep clean, removing any product build-up and unwanted oil while adding hydration. It can also help slough off dandruff flakes. The scrub is also made with bisabolol, an oil derived from chamomile that has soothing properties. It’s safe to use on sensitive skin and scalps once a week, per the brand.

Before adding it to my cart, I perused through the Amazon reviews from shoppers who raved that the scrub did everything from eliminate buildup to treat conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Another plus? The volume it left behind. “I usually only review when things are bad, but I am super impressed with this scrub,” wrote one shopper. “After only one use I can't believe how clean my hair is and how much volume came back even after simply air drying.” Overall, customers loved how deeply cleansing it was, and even compared it to salon treatments. “The most cleansing and enjoyable scalp feeling outside of scalp cleanses in a salon,” said another fan. Sold.
The product instructions recommend using it once a week or immediately after rinsing out hair dye, so I chose to do it after coloring my hair at home. I really wanted to put it to the test by using it to get the dye off my scalp, which is something I’ve always struggled with. I took a tablespoon of product as directed and massaged it all over my head, making sure that it was emulsified. It lathered really well, and when I rinsed it out, I couldn’t believe how clean my hair felt. For a second I panicked at just how squeaky clean it was; I thought my strands were going to feel stiff and dry as a result. However, after applying conditioner, my hair felt super soft and silky. (Yay!) The excess hair dye had disappeared, which was a plus, and I was excited to see how it dried afterwards.
My hair definitely felt lighter after using the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub. Because of this, I was definitely able to get more volume, even when only air-drying my hair. The TL;DR? I’ll definitely be using this weekly for a deeper cleanse and softer, fluffier strands.
If you need a volume boost or a deep clean for your stressed tresses, definitely give Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub a try at Amazon for just $19.
