Who knew 2020 would be the year we’d all embrace casual clothing as the new chic? Certainly not fashion designer Jason Wu, yet he seemed to predict it with his brand new J Jason Wu collection, which launches on QVC today. It’s packed with comfortable, everyday style staples to spice up your winter wardrobe.
You may recognize Wu’s name from the runway, but make no mistake: J Jason Wu is affordable and accessible by design. The “sportswear meets couture” collection includes sweaters, blouses, jackets, hoodies and more “elevated everyday” pieces with a “runway sensibility” that start at just $44 and come in sizes 0 to 32 — celebrating women of all shapes and sizes.

“I’ve always loved the feminine form,” Wu tells Yahoo Life, adding that femininity is the thread that ties all his designs together. Though J Jason Wu isn’t his first mid-range offering, this time Wu wanted to create a mix-and-match collection for any woman who wants to feel glamorous whether she’s at home or out and about.
“Everyone has a busy life. They don't have three, four hours to get ready all the time,” Wu says. “And so this line is about [clothes] you can really throw on and go. Fashion should not only be functional, but it should also make you feel great.”
J Jason Wu is like a one-stop shop for long-lasting, high-quality, size-inclusive clothing you can actually afford.
“For me, it's always about creating a wardrobe. I don't like to offer things that are overly trendy or overly seasonal,” Wu explained. “Why should we buy something and not be able to keep it for 20, 30 years? If it's a beautifully designed, well-considered garment, it should be able to stand the test of time. And that’s another very big hallmark of the J Jason Wu collection.”
J Jason Wu: Available only on QVC
For Wu, it was a no-brainer to team up with QVC, a budget-conscious retailer that’s been a pioneer of size inclusivity. “The moment is right. This is the first time I’ve been able to work with a [retailer] that’s multi-platform but direct to consumer,” Wu tells Yahoo Life.
Wu was drawn to the idea that someone can shop the J Jason Wu collection “wherever she’s watching, whenever she’s watching, on any kind of device” he says. “Some people even watch afterwards, on their app. I’ve definitely done my fair share of watching QVC on my phone and getting a little addicted! There are just so many access points to this collection.”
J Jason Wu launches today, but Wu will be appearing on-air to promote the QVC collaboration this Friday, November 13. “I'll be telling the story of a garment that I designed at the same time that I'm talking to the customer and being able to offer that item to her,” he says. “That’s what modern shopping looks like.”
You can shop the entire J Jason Wu collection right here (fair warning: it’s obsession-worthy!), but here’s a sneak peek at a few pieces we’re particularly swooning over.
J Jason Wu Hoodie with Satin Back
Wu calls this modern, sophisticated hoodie — which comes in black or red — his favorite of the entire collection because it’s inspired by his own personal style. “It’s like me as a girl, but instead of a regular sweatshirt, it has a satin insert on the back,” he says. “A hoodie is a staple of American sportswear, but this one has a little something that makes it stand out.”
J Jason Wu Sweater with Beaded Detail
This sophisticated, beaded v-neck sweater is also one of Wu’s top picks. He calls it “something a woman can wear at home when she's hosting, because likely this year we're all at home.” Wu says that throughout his career, he’s never shied away from creating comfortable clothes that are also glamorous and sensual. He feels a woman’s everyday wardrobe can and should contain elements of both.
J Jason Wu June Sweater
A lot of the pieces in the J Jason Wu collection are made of “a slinky jersey knit that’s not fuzzy at all” as Wu describes it, and this sweater that flares at the hips is a perfect example. It’s available in four colors — from emerald green to subtle Heather grey — and probably the piece we’re most excited about for day-to-day glamour.
J Jason Wu Tuxedo Pant
Another of Wu’s favorites from the QVC line is this pair of tuxedo pants that are made entirely of knit, so they have all the comfort of sweatpants with the style of slacks. The collection will offer a tuxedo jacket to match, but Wu wants customers to see J Jason Wu as a series of separates. “[The casual tuxedo] doesn’t have to be worn as a suit. You can wear [the pieces] with a sweater, too. The idea of separates is really important in this line, because that’s how most people live day to day.”
J Jason Wu V-Neck Blouse
One way to instantly crank up the style dial is with this flow-y v-neck blouse. It comes in two vibrant patterns — a Jason Wu signature style element. The cut is roomy but still skims your figure, so there’s nothing to feel self-conscious about when you throw this one on. Dare we say it’s the perfect holiday hosting top?
