Jaclyn Hill's Net Worth May Have Taken a Hit After That Whole Hairy Lipstick Situation
It really seems like beauty bloggers live the sweet life. They always look gorgeous, they have adoring fans, and they make mad money. If they can avoid all those pesky feuds, it pretty much seems like the perfect occupation. Jaclyn Hill knows this better than anyone. She's been in the beauty game for quite a while and she's amassed a large following, which has allowed her net worth to reach a pretty substantial number.
Jaclyn has 5.9 million subscribers on YouTube, with most of her videos getting anywhere from one to four million views. That means she's probably making a lot from ad revenue from those vids. In fact, Cosmo estimates she makes about $7 million a year from YouTube alone.
The beauty blogger also worked with Becca Cosmetics back in 2015 to launch their Champagne Pop Collection, which, according to Forbes sold 25,000 units in its first 20 mins online, a Sephora.com record. While it's unclear exactly how much Jaclyn made from that collection, it's safe to say she definitely got paid well considering its success.
But that's not the only makeup collab Jaclyn has been involved in. The YouTuber also made a palette with Morphe, which sold out in less than an hour, twice!
Of course, that leads us to Jaclyn's own, now infamous, cosmetic collection. She launched Jaclyn Cosmetics last month, starting off with 20 lipsticks. The products sold out very quickly, but of course, there was a lot of backlash over the quality of the lipsticks, and now she has promised to refund everyone AND provide them with a free lipstick, which is bound to cost a lot of money.
So, what does this all add up to? Elle Australia estimates the beauty blogger is worth about $1.5 million, and that was before Lipstick Gate, so the number could have dropped. Of course, that is a lot of money, but the number is still pretty low when you compare it to her contemporaries like James Charles and Jeffree Star who are estimated to be worth $12 million and $75 million respectively.
