Jacob Elordi To Play Frankenstein in Guillermo Del Toro's Upcoming Netflix Adaptation
Following the success of Saltburn and Priscilla, Jacob Elordi has another big project on the way. Notably one of Hollywood's most sought-after star at the moment, Elordi has landed the role of Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro's upcoming Netflix adaptation.
Elordi comes alive to portray the titular monster, taking over the role after Andrew Garfield departed the project due to strike-related scheduling conflicts. Del Toro's adaptation of the classic monster tale will also see the cast include Oscar Isaac playing the scientist Victor Frankenstein and Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz. Others in the ensemble include Lars Mikkelsen, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley and Christian Convery.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker is expected to write, direct and produce the film, which is based on Mary Shelley's novel about the brilliant but egotistical scientist Victor Frankenstein. Elordi initially rose to fame by way of Netflix's Kissing Booth series which he has gone on record to call them "ridiculous." Launching his career with Netflix, he rose to prominence in HBO's Euphoria and later starred as Elvis in Priscilla and alongside Barry Keoghan in Saltburn. Frankenstein continues del Toro's relationship with Netflix after his Academy Award-winnning Pinocchio and more. Stay tuned for what is to come with Frankenstein.
