Jacob Elordi Turns Down Superman Role
Jacob Elordi may be rising up the Hollywood ranks, but he’s not got his sights set on superhero movies.
The actor, who plays Elvis in upcoming A24 biopic Priscilla, recently told British GQ he has no interest in becoming Superman for upcoming DC film Superman Legacy, despite the similarities in appearance.
“That was immediately, ‘No, thank you.’ That’s too much. That’s too dark for me,” the actor says about passing on a reading for the character.
“And obviously anything can happen, but at this stage in my life, I don’t see myself having any interest in that…I like to make what I would watch, and I get very restless watching those movies.”
The actor talks about the ‘one for you, one for me’ strategy, in which you do an arty film for the soul, and a blockbuster film for the bank balance. “That one’s a trap as well. Because it can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas, and you’re dead inside. So it’s a fine dance.”
New character are still being added to Superman: Legacy as it gets a strange new superhero.
