What's there to do in the Jacksonville area in August? Well, other than a bunch of good plays and concerts, a tour through a beloved Girl Scout camp, guys trying to deadlift automobiles, Bat Boy and "Mame" on stage, a Grateful Dead festival, Hot Wheels monster trucks and the defending Super Bowl champions, hardly anything.

August is traditionally a slow month in these parts as people hide out from the heat, keep an eye on the Weather Channel and make back-to-school plans. But that doesn't mean everything is shut down. Here's 90 or so to keep you busy until September rolls around.
