James Corden Almost Ruined the Royal Wedding in the Most Hilarious Way

James Corden was one of the lucky 600 guests who attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding at St. George’s Chapel, but (gasp!) the late-night host just revealed that he nearly interrupted the entire thing.

On last night’s episode of The Late Late Show, Corden revealed that he and his wife, Julia Carey, attended the royal nuptials. But his experience took a turn for the worst when Reverend Michael Bruce Curry asked for objections, and we can only hope the writers of A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding are taking notes.

In the clip, Corden pokes fun at a photo of himself at the wedding looking bored AF. He says, “In my defense, what defense do you make whilst watching a cellist in a church? People were like, ‘Why are you so grumpy?’ What do you want me to be doing, like [rocking out]?” Touché.

But the real fun begins at the 1:40 mark when the host reveals there was a major downside to attending the royal nuptials versus watching them in your jammies. You see, the church was adorned with “the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen,” and the pollen didn’t quite agree with Corden’s allergies.

“Right at the point when the archbishop was saying, ‘If anyone knows of any reason…’ I was like, ‘Please don’t sneeze. Please don’t sneeze.’”

He went on to say that he covered it up with a semi-snort, adding, “I had to do one of those internal sneezes. I think I got away with it, but millions and millions of people around the world watched.”

We can already picture the queen’s priceless reaction.
