Jamie Foxx Gets Massive Support While Reflecting on 'Unexpected Dark Journey'
Jamie Foxx is slowly but surely making his way back to full health.
After emerging from a months-long hiatus due to hospital treatment from an undisclosed "medical complication," the triple threat actor-singer-comedian is "finally starting to feel like" himself again. Late Wednesday night, August 16, he shared an update with fans while reflecting on his "unexpected dark journey."
In a new Instagram post, the Just Mercy star appeared to be in an outdoor hut of some sort, surrounded by its wooden structure. He donned a crochet hat, sunglasses, and a dampened white v-neck tee while holding a pair of red Crocs in his hands, so from the looks of it, he may be enjoying some vacation time.
Foxx looked back on his situation in the caption of the social media upload, showing gratitude toward his supporters.
"You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself… it’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light…" he wrote.
The Django Unchained star continued: "I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don’t know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day… #swipeleft #imbackandimbetter #nobaddays."
In the comment section, he gained a wave of support, with people flooding in to express their relief that the "You Changed Me" singer is doing much better.
Jeremy Renner, who experienced his own traumatic medical crisis earlier this year when he was run over by a snowplow, wrote, "Bless you my friend !!!????."
Longtime friend and former The Jamie Foxx Show co-star Garcelle Beauvais chimed in agreeing with the caption's sentiment: "God is amazing and so are you! ??"
"Yes He is!!! Glad you’re better," fellow Oscar winner Octavia Spencer concurred.
At the time of Foxx's sudden incident, he had been in the middle of filming Back in Action alongside co-star Cameron Diaz in Atlanta. In other recent work, his latest movie, They Cloned Tyrone, with John Boyega and Teyonah Parris dropped on Netflix on July 21.
