Jamie Foxx Reportedly Undergoing Medical Rehab in Chicago
A new update has been shared on Jamie Foxx's current condition.
According to reports by Fox 32 and TMZ, Foxx is receiving medical treatment at a renowned Chicago medical rehabilitation center: Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. The facility focuses on rehabilitating traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, cancer, and stroke recovery.
A source told TMZ Foxx arrived at the facility in late April after finishing treatment at a hospital in Atlanta. Additionally, sources close to the actor say he's "recovering well." Foxx's daughters Corinne and Anelise, and Anelise's mom Kristin Gannis, were photographed at the rehabilitation center, carrying Mother's Day balloons and flowers.
The new reports come days after Corinne shared on her Instagram Story that Foxx was out of the hospital. "Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!" she wrote on May 12.
Upon various comments by celebrities who are friends with Foxx asking for prayers, fans grew concerned over Foxx's condition. However, the actor took to Instagram to confirm he was awake and doing okay, writing, "Appreciate all the love!! Feeling blessed."
Though details of what happened to Foxx haven't been shared yet, fans were first alerted that he experienced a medical emergency on April 11. Corinne wrote on Instagram, "From the Foxx family: We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery."
