Jamie Lynn Spears Reunites With Nickelodeon Cast For 'Zoey 101' Movie
The new film 'Zoey 102' is slated to debut later this year.
Nickelodeon fans' prayers have been answered: Zoey Brooks is making a comeback!
Jamie Lynn Spears will officially be reprising her iconic Zoey 101 role in a brand new film for Paramount+, entitled Zoey 102. Multiple sources, including People, confirmed the news on Thursday, Jan. 12.
In addition to Spears, more original cast members are also expected to return to their famous Pacific Coast Academy characters, including Sean Flynn (as Chase Matthews), Matthew Underwood (Logan Reese), Christopher Massey (Michael Barret), Erin Sanders (Quinn Pensky) Jack Salvatore (Mark Del Figgalo) and Abbie Wilde (Stacey Dillsen).
The original show aired from 2005 to 2008, shortly before Spears gave birth to her firstborn daughter, Maddie Aldridge, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge. The Sweet Magnolias star has since married Jamie Watson and welcomed a second daughter, Ivey Joan Watson.
Spears, now 31, will be teaming up with the other OG cast members from the hit Nickelodeon series as they come back to the screen as PCA alumni reuniting for a wedding in the present day.
"I'm beyond thrilled to be back alongside my PCA family and continue the story of Zoey and all the characters fans know and love," Spears told People of the new film. "As an executive producer, it's been an exciting opportunity to work with such incredible talent as well as Paramount+ and Nickelodeon."
On Thursday, Spears shared the exciting news on her Instagram alongside a photo of her director's chair with Zoey's name on it.
"IT’S OFFICIAL! ?? Are you ready….," she captioned the post, in reference to the nostalgic ?Zoey 101 theme song.

Nickelodeon fans are likely delighted with the news, especially after years of begging for a reboot. They're also not surprised to learn that some of the original cast members won't return, namely Alexa Nikolas and Paul Butcher, who have both come out publicly against Spears in recent years. Nikolas has also protested Nickelodeon for not protecting her from a "traumatic experience" while working for the network.
The film is currently in production in North Carolina and is expected to premiere on Paramount+ later this year.
