If you guessed that pop legend Janet Jackson had a round-the-clock army of nannies at her beck and call, well, you’d be wrong — just like we were. Janet Jackson is raising son Eissa with zero nannies and we admit it, we’re pretty surprised.
That’s not to say she doesn’t use an occasional babysitter when she’s working. “Of course, when I’m working someone watches him, but it’s my baby and me,” Jackson told the Australian Daily Telegraph’s Stellar magazine in an interview.

“It is hard being a working mother… I don’t have a nanny, I do it all myself,” she also told the outlet.
Eissa, 2, was born in January 2017 to Jackson and Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana. The couple split in April 2017 after reports of a turbulent marriage. The pair allegedly do not see eye to eye on how to parent their son.
In the weeks immediately following Eissa’s birth, sources reported that Jackson and baby Eissa were being waited on “hand and foot” by a team of nurses (so you can see why we might be surprised to hear there’s not even one nanny in the picture now).
Jackson’s life may have taken some sharp turns, but she recently spoke with The Sunday Times, saying that she’s “in a great space.”
“I have a beautiful son,” she continued, laughing that her friends call her Superwoman as a working mother. “God knows I’m not. But I think what they are seeing is the energy and that extra drive I’m getting from the inspiration of Eissa,” Jackson said.
Jackson doesn’t post pics of Eissa often, but here’s one from his baby days that we just love:
Jackson is currently finishing up her Las Vegas residency, Metamorphosis, at the Park MGM. Pretty cool gig for a working mom, eh?
