Jason Kelce Hailed a 'Man of the People' in Photos From 5K Charity Run
Jason Kelce
Jason Kelce earned himself a new title over the weekend.
The 36-year-old Philadelphia Eagles center was hailed a "man of the people" after photos of him running in a charitable 5K went viral online.
According to the Facebook account that uploaded several images of the NFL star participating in the Saturday, Feb. 17, event in New Jersey, Kelce's efforts supported Mike's Seafood Run Walk for Autism, which raises money to benefit adults with autism and the families of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
"JASON KELCE WE LOVE YOU!" the caption exclaimed. "Thanks for coming & supporting!"
The four photos uploaded by the charity seemed to capture the father of three in different stages of the run, two of which caught him crossing the finish line.
And let's just say fans were impressed, quickly filling the comments with praises like "A true man of the people!" "Such a great guy to do the run for this special cause," and "What a human!! We are so fortunate that he represents our city so wonderfully !!"
While it was certainly surprising to see the NFL star in New Jersey, his support of causes related to furthering autism research and helping to provide for those diagnosed with ASD should not come as a shock.
Kelce's career team launched its own organization, the Eagles Autism Foundation, led by the Eagles and the team's owner and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, to raise money for autism research and care in Sept. 2019.
In the almost five years since the organizations' inception, Kelce has gotten numerous family members involved with the cause–including his wife Kylie and his mom Donna.
