Jason Kelce Weighs in on Possibility of Taylor Swift Joining Eagles' Christmas Album
Jason Kelce, Taylor Swift
Jason Kelce and a few of his Philadelphia Eagles teammates are set to release a second Christmas album this year, begging the question, will his brother's new love interest–Taylor Swift–join in?
While speaking with Today's Sheinelle Jones, Jason and two of his fellow Eagles–offensive tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata–revealed that following the success of last year's record, A Philly Special Christmas, which featured four renditions of Christmas classics and reportedly raised over $1 million for local charities, the trio will release a second Christmas album later this year.
Given that Jason's younger brother, Travis Kelce, appears to be dating the Grammy winner, Jones asked what we've all been wondering: Will the 33-year-old be making a guest appearance?
While the team of three said the second album is set to debut, they wouldn't turn down a cameo from Swift for their third–hinting that they may already have plans to record a release for next year.
“Not this one, not this time around,” Kelce, 35, said, with Jones adding, "Talk about raising money for charity. You could break the internet."
"That would be pretty incredible," the Eagles center replied. "But maybe in the future."
The second album isn't without a special feature, though, as the trio worked alongside Philly legend Patti LaBelle, which Kelce explained was nerve-racking as he was “very nervous” to sing with “the queen.”
As for how the NFL stars became professional Christmas carolers, well, it apparently all started in the locker room. “We sing around a lot, like Lane and I will go in the same car after a game sometimes, and we’ll listen to songs,” Kelce shared. Mailata got involved after he stunned his teammates by singing "White Christmas" during a team practice, and the rest is history.
