Jason Momoa apologizes to Chris Pratt after calling him out for using a plastic water bottle

12/4/2019 UPDATE: On Tuesday night, Jason Momoa posted an apology for the way his comments about Chris Pratt’s water bottle were received. In a caption that accompanies a photo of the actors and Momoa’s children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf, the See star wrote, “BRO you know my children and I are madly in love with you and I love everything you do,” he wrote. “I’m sorry this was received so badly today I didn’t mean for that to happen. I’m just very passionate about this single use plastic epidemic. the plastic water bottles have to stop i hope u make a reusable water bottle for amazon so we all can purchase. You’re an inspiration to many I’m one of them.”

Momoa promised to send Pratt a case of Mananalu, his own brand of water that comes in aluminum cans. However, he needn’t have worried that Pratt was offended. At some point, Pratt replied with kindness to Momoa’s original comment that he shouldn’t be using such a water bottle. “Aquaman! You’re completely right. Dammit. I always carry my big gallon size reusable water jug around with me too. I even had it that day!!!” Pratt wrote. “If I remember correctly somebody threw that plastic bottle to me in the photo shoot cause I didn’t know what to do with my hands! I never know what to do with my hands! So uncomfortable. For real tho. Love you too buddy. My bad. I don’t want your home of Atlantis covered in plastic. Hear that kids? Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.”

Jason Momoa has called out Chris Pratt for using what appears to be a single-use plastic water bottle in a photo taken during one of his workouts. After all, Momoa is Aquaman, defender of the oceans.

It started when Pratt struck a pose in the gym — a place he’s obviously visiting regularly these days — as part of an advertisement for Amazon. Pratt has curated a page of his favorite items for the online retailer.

Momoa, who provided the voice of Aquaman alongside Pratt in February’s The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, reached out to Pratt about the object Pratt held in his hand.

“Bro I love u but wtf on the water bottle,” Momoa wrote. “No single use plastic. Come on.”

After that, others jumped in to applaud Momoa, whose Instagram handle is @prideofgypsies, for speaking up.

“@prideofgypsies right! I was going to say the same thing... you think he could afford something more sustainable. Be a role model!” a user wrote.

Another commented, “Give him hell, @prideofgypsies!”

“Love what you’re doing for our planet, keep it up,” a fan wrote. “Much love!”

Others begged Pratt to be more environmentally conscious and to reconsider working with Amazon.

Yet another faction of people weighing in just wanted to note that the Guardians of the Galaxy star looked fantastic. It inspired countless heart and flame emojis.

Pratt’s wife of six months, Katherine Schwarzenegger, definitely approved. She wrote, “love it baby!”

Her brother Patrick commented simply that Pratt was “lookin ripped.”

Sean Hayes, a star of NBC’s Will and Grace on NBC, the same network that once aired Pratt’s Parks and Recreation, joked about the snapshot. “Is that a picture of me?” Hayes wrote. “Oh, wait. No. No it is not me. Common mistake.”
