Jason Momoa to Play New DC Superhero
Jason Momoa is getting ready to fill the role of new superhero. That’s according to a report from Variety stating the actor is in talks to play DC character Lobo.
Currently, Momoa plays Aquaman, the half-Atlantean, half-human king of undersea nation Atlantis. He’s appeared in various DC films, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Justice League (2017), and Aquaman (2018), with December’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom ending his almost decade-long run after being cast in 2014.
His new character, Lobo, is a foul-mouthed intergalactic bounty hunter who first appeared in a 1983 comic. Lobo will feature in James Gunn’s new-look DC universe, and is rumored to appear in 2025’s Superman: Legacy.
Those who follow Momoa on social media won’t be shocked by the news. He’s been teasing his love for the character for years. Plus, he bears more than a slight resemblance to the scraggly haired superhero.
Before then, you can see Momoa’s last stand as Aquaman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on December 20. Check out the first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
