Jason Patric's brother, Jordan Miller, is dead at age 56.
On Friday, Jan. 12, TMZ reported that Miller died on Jan. 10 after a bus struck him in New Jersey.
Patric's younger brother was reportedly crossing the street in Fort Lee, N.J., on Wednesday afternoon when the accident happened. An NJ Transit bus reportedly struck him as it made a left turn, police reported to the outlet.
Although Miller was transported to a hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, he was later pronounced dead. The Fort Lee Police Department is investigating the incident to determine whether it was an accident or a crime.
Miller worked as a customer service representative at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.
"Yesterday, I received an unexpected early morning phone call. It was from the Chief Security Officer of the Port Authority advising me of the death of a Port Authority employee," Kevin J. O’Toole, chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, wrote for the New Jersey Globe on Jan. 11. "When I heard the deceased man’s name, Jordan Miller, it stopped me. I knew him. I had met Jordan over a dozen years ago, and he had left a lasting impression."
In the piece, Toole explained that Miller landed his job with the Port Authority in 2011. He also reflected on what Miller was like as a worker.
"He was loved by his co-workers, who describe him as a 'man of routine,' and he will be missed," O’Toole wrote. "He was also an avid runner who completed the New York City Marathon for 13 consecutive years, which says something about his focus and commitment to a goal."
