Jason Sudekis Reveals the Iconic Piece of Memorabilia He Took From the 'Ted Lasso' Set
Ted Lasso is nominated for an eye-popping 21 Emmys Awards after the third and final season of the beloved Apple TV Plus series wrapped up last year. Ahead of Monday's ceremony, the cast assembled for a pre-Emmys panel moderated by People, in which star and co-creator Jason Sudekis revealed what items he kept from the set, including one very iconic piece of memorabilia.
"I have the snow globe that Keeley gives [to Barbara]," he said, of the no-nonsense CFO who worked at Juno Temple's character's PR company. "I have Roy Kent’s Chelsea jersey; I have Henry Lasso’s soccer jersey that I gave to [my son] Otis."
"I have the original 'Believe' sign," he continued, to an audible reaction from the audience. "And I just [have] a buttload of memories."
Actress Hannah Waddingham, who starred as Rebecca Welton, the owner of the AFC Richmond football club, was also asked the same question.
“I was constantly asking—first of all, I don’t think of it as stealing. They’re lovingly rehomed," Waddingham told the panel's moderator. "Actually, my things were not material things. I can't tell you how many times I asked about clothes and shoes and oh my, coats."
However, the 49-year-old did admit that she has the army man figurine that Sudeikis’ titular character gives to her in just the second episode of the series.
"When you give me the army man, I kept him zipped in my hero bag, my gray Dolce [& Gabbana] bag," she told her costar. "Which someone threw across the set one day and I was like, what are you doing?"
Waddingham added that she likewise kept the first class ticket that she takes "to get through the airport" in the emotional series finale, as well as a storyboard from the final scene.
In addition to being nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, Ted Lasso is also up for writing and directing in a comedy series. Sudekis, Waddingham, Temple, Phil Dunster, who played Jamie Tartt, and Brett Goldstein, who starred as Roy Kent, likewise all received individual acting nominations.
