Jeff Goldblum Is Releasing a Jazz Album and…Wait, Jeff Goldblum Plays Jazz?

Hold on to your butts, because Jeff Goldblum has a sultry (and absurd) surprise up his sleeve.

In addition to being a dinosaur survivor and truly novice chef, turns out Goldblum is also a helluva jazz pianist. And get this—he’s releasing his first album later this year. *Cue the celebratory Ron Burgundy jazz flute*

The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom star has officially signed with Universal’s classical label, Decca Records, for a solo album after almost three decades of playing in the jazz group, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

A known jazz enthusiast, Goldblum caught the attention of record execs when he performed with Grammy-winning artist Gregory Porter on the Graham Norton Show last year. The rest is musical history.

So why make the transition from dinosaur-focused mathematician to piano man? Well, in the words of Dr. Ian Malcolm: Jazz will not be contained. Jazz breaks free. Jazz, uh…finds a way.
