Jenna Bush Hager Accuses 'Today' Producers of Shaming Her Drinking

Jenna Bush Hager suggested Today producers were "shaming" her and her twin sister, Barbara Bush, over an incident that occurred well over 20 years ago.
On Thursday, Nov. 9, the 41-year-old sisters served as co-hosts of the morning talk show, with Barbara filling in for series regular Hoda Kotb. During the broadcast, they began playing a little game called "First Loves," but according to Jenna, it wasn't as harmless as it seemed.
The first question asked the set of sisters about "the first cocktail I ever loved," and Jenna's response to that was to reprimand producers.
"I think they're trying to shame us," the Today personality said. "With our underage drinking, minor possession of alcohol."
Barbara interjected with an equally shocked "Wow" before going on to say, "That was rude," and agreeing with Jenna's take.
"I think it's a shame coming from my own team," Jenna noted.
In need of a refresher? Back in the spring of 2001–mere months after their father George W. Bush took office–the girls had just wrapped up their freshman year of college and headed to a popular Texas restaurant to grab a bite and apparently some drinks as police accused then-19-year-old Jenna of trying to use someone else's driver's license to order a drink. The restaurant called the police, and the twins were each cited with Class C misdemeanors.
While they agree that the question was a subtle dig from producers, they quickly got over it, with Jenna eventually answering the question, "But I would have to say it was probably a wine cooler."
"Definitely a wine cooler," Barbara replied before Jenna added, "Or a Natty Light."
"Or, remember there was something called Strawberry Hill?" Barbara asked. "I don't know if that's still around, but I liked it–it was all sugar."
