Jennie Garth Vows to 'Always' Stand by Tori Spelling After Divorce Filing
Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth
Jennie Garth has promised to always be there for her friend Tori Spelling, no matter what life throws their way.
Garth, 51, recently vowed to stick by her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star's side amid Spelling's divorce from her longtime husband, Dean McDermott.
Spelling, 50, officially filed to divorce McDermott, 57, on Friday, March 29, after being separated for more than nine months. The estranged pair had been married for 18 years, during which they welcomed five children together.
But after Spellings' filing made headlines on Friday, Garth spoke out to send support to her gal pal, telling People, "I've always stood beside her, behind her, supported her, and I will always continue to do that."
Addressing her tight-knit relationship with Spelling, Garth explained their time together as young women in 90210 created a special bond that would ultimately last a lifetime.
"We bonded, [and] forged a really strong, unique friendship at such a young age," Garth, who now hosts the re-watch podcast 90210MG with Spelling, told the outlet. "That kind of bond doesn't ever go away. You know, it's kind of unbreakable."
Garth's comments likely come at a time when Spelling will need to lean on her friend. Her divorce filing on Friday came just a few weeks shy of what would have been her and McDermott's 18th wedding anniversary.
The divorce petition, filed in Los Angeles County, listed June 17, 2023, as the pair's date of separation, while documenting the reason for their split as "irreconcilable differences."
McDermott first announced their separation in June 2023, sharing a since-deleted post about the couple's decision to part ways.
In her filing over nine months later, Spelling requested sole physical custody and joint legal custody of the pair's five children: Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11 and Beau, 7, requesting that McDermott be allowed visitation time.
