Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt Will "Be Onscreen Together" During 'Fast Times' Table Read
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston will reunite for a virtual table reading of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
The event has been postponed due to technical difficulties, but organizer Dane Cook has confirmed that the exes will share the screen during the event.
Comedian Cook told People, "I threw out a bunch of names originally, and was fortunate enough to get a couple of those names pretty quickly. I mean, Jennifer Aniston was lovely."
Sadly, the Fast Times at Ridgemont High virtual table read, which was meant to take place on Friday night, had to be postponed due to technical difficulties.
Organized by comedian and actor Dane Cook, the table read is set to feature a slew of celebrities including Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Shia LaBeouf, Henry Golding, Jimmy Kimmel, Morgan Freeman, John Legend, Ray Liotta, and Sean Penn. Plus, Jennifer Aniston is due to reunite with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, for the event, which will benefit CORE's and REFORM Alliance's coronavirus relief fund.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Cook revealed, "We want to deliver the absolute best night of entertainment possible and raise money for two incredible organizations. The technical issues were insurmountable. Class will be back in session soon."
Meanwhile, during an interview with People earlier this week, Cook promised that Pitt and Aniston would have some shared screen time during the virtual table reading. "I can tell you that you will see them onscreen together," he teased.
And that's not all. Cook also opened up about how he secured such a star-studded cast. "I threw out a bunch of names originally, and was fortunate enough to get a couple of those names pretty quickly," he explained. "I mean, Jennifer Aniston was lovely, and was so gung-ho. Julia Roberts came in within that first week or two, and within 10 days, I knew that this could go the distance. In terms of casting and how we wanted it to come together, there's some expectation of what kind of person should be playing this role or that role, but truly it was about, let's really try to break up the diversity, and let's be unexpected. You know, a live read is a celebration of the written story."
A new date for the rescheduled Fast Times at Ridgemont High will be announced shortly.
