From Town & Country

Jennifer Aniston’s red carpet jewelry tends to be discreet—a diamond stud, a bangle, sometimes a dangling earring—though there have been exceptions. See her 2006 double layer of Bulgari diamonds at the 78th Annual Academy Awards, and at tonight’s Golden Globes, a midcentury Cartier necklace.

Aniston celebrated her head-turning performance in The Morning Show in Dior Couture and vintage jewels. Specifically, a Cartier London 1950s double swag necklace from Fred Leighton designed with round and baguette diamonds. Timeless, elegant, and inspired by another Hollywood princess.

The necklace is a similar style to the Cartier piece Prince Rainier bought Grace Kelly on their wedding day in 1956. Princess Grace’s was a three strand necklace created from approximately 64 carats of round and emerald-cut diamonds, set in platinum. It is sometimes on view at Cartier exhibits, but still belongs to the royal family.

How are we sure? Princess Grace’s granddaughter Charlotte Casiraghi wore it, with strapless Chanel, to her wedding reception in Monaco last year.

Jennifer Aniston's nomination for The Morning Show is just the latest accolade the veteran actress has picked up over her decades in the industry—but it's the first time in years that she's been recognized for a recurring television role. Famously, Aniston stopped acting on TV (with the exception of a few guest roles) after Friends ended in 2004.

Maybe The Morning Show's success will inspire Aniston to do more television—her fans certainly hope so.
